The AAAS Pathways to Policy Fellowship (PPF) provides experts from an array of backgrounds and scientific disciplines the opportunity to serve in yearlong assignments that impact science policy across the nation and internationally. Fellows come from a range of sectors, including academia, industry and nonprofits, and they represent a spectrum of career stages, from recent doctoral graduates and faculty on sabbatical to retired scientists and engineers. Through this opportunity, fellows utilize their subject matter expertise to ensure scientific evidence influences policy making in a variety of settings outside of the federal government, including nonprofit organizations, corporations, and think tanks. Fellows will also gain invaluable experience developing policy firsthand and hone their science communication skills to further foster collaboration among scientists and the public.
