The UPMC Administrative Fellowships are two-year programs for graduate level students with a passion for health care management. UPMC, a world-renowned health care provider and insurer, is inventing new models of accountable, cost-effective, patient-centered care.

Fellows will spend their first year rotating with executive level leadership, participating in various projects, meetings, and initiatives through a variety of core functional rotations. The second year is flexible and allows the fellow to spend time working in an area of interest and/or organizational need.

UPMC Enterprises Administrative Fellowship Track

The Enterprises Administrative Fellowship is a two-year executive leadership development program for graduate level students with a passion for healthcare business development, strategy, product management, data analytics, and digital health/user experience design.

Health Services Division Administrative Fellowship Program

The Health Services Division Administrative Fellowship Program is a two-year leadership development program for graduate level students with a passion for health care management. Depending on the year, they offer positions in the following locations:

UPMC Altoona
UPMC in Central Pa.
UPMC Hamot
UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside
UPMC North Central Pa. Region

UPMC Insurance Services Division (ISD) Administrative Fellowship Track

The two-year Insurance Services Division (ISD) fellowship is a leadership development program that serves as means to develop a broad experience in fellows’ career that will foster their professional development within the Insurance Services Division of UPMC. ISD Fellows will rotate through UPMC Insurance Services Division (UPMC Health Plan, Workpartners, and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization), have an externship to another UPMC location, and have an optional rotation in an area of the fellows’ choosing.

Eligibility

The UPMC Administrative Fellowship is intended for post-graduates who have completed their graduate studies within the last 18 months.

Candidates must possess excellent analytic and communication skills, should be motivated and self-starting, and adaptive to change. Prior to starting the fellowship program, interested applicants must have a master’s degree from an accredited university in:

Health Administration (MHA), CAHME accredited Univeristy
Public Health (MPH), CEPH accredited University
Business Administration (MBA), AMBA, AACSB, IACBE or EQUIS accredited University.
Or other related master’s degree program
