Our residency program welcomes artists and writers working across all mediums and genres for two, three, and four week sessions. Residents enjoy well-lit, private studios within a short walk to residency housing, dining hall, and local amenities. Studio spaces range from 170 – 300 square feet. Accommodations include a private room and shared common areas. The campus features include a print shop, digital lab, and metal, wood, ceramic facility. Studios are open 24 hours a day.
VSC also offers Fellowships that cover the full cost of the residency and are awarded through a competitive, juried process. Approximately one third of all VSC residents receive Fellowships each year.
During the course of each year, VSC has multiple calls for applications. The applications are juried together in a pool by a rotating jury of practicing artists and writers. For each application deadline we have fellowship opportunities which are listed on our fellowships page. Applicants whose work was well-received but were not awarded a fellowship may still be invited for admission.
