This scholarship aids students majoring in a Health Care Professional field who reside in the hospital service area. Applications are available in February and the deadline for submittal of the completed application including current references, transcripts, and proof of acceptance into a Health Care Professional program is in early April. Applicants are evaluated based on attitude and desire toward education, leadership, citizenship, personality, and financial need. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon the number and qualifications of the applicants and all finalists are interviewed at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- reside in the hospital service area which includes the following Illinois zip codes: 60010, 60012, 60013, 60014, 60021, 60042, 60047, 60050, 60051, 60060, 60067, 60073, 60084, 60098, 60102, 60110, 60156
- be accepted into one of the following health care fields of study: nursing, nurse practitioner, physician, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, radiology/imaging, pharmacy, social work.
