The Greenberg Center for Jewish Studies runs an annual competition to fund a Jewish Studies conference, initiated and organized by graduate students, to be held during the following academic year.

The Center will provide the successful applicant(s) with a $5,000 grant; it is expected that the organizers will supplement this grant with money raised from departments, schools, and other centers and sources of funding at the University. The Center will also advise organizers about raising funds and will provide logistical support for the conference.

Eligibility

Ph.D. students from all schools and divisions at the University of Chicago are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to proposals submitted jointly by two or more students from different departments or schools, particularly those that treat inter- or multi-disciplinary topics.
