CIGLR administers an annual Great Lakes Summer Fellows Program, in partnership with the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL). We place promising undergraduate and graduate students with both academic and federal research mentors.

Through this program, students work on substantive research issues in the Great Lakes and undergo a career training program that equips them with the knowledge and skills to be the next generation of Great Lakes scientists. Through this program, we seek to support diversity in Great Lakes research by valuing the wide range of identities, backgrounds, perspectives, and skills that enrich scientific exploration and help connect science with society.

This is a full-time, twelve-week position.

Eligibility

  • You must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be eligible for the program.
