The ChadTough Defeat DIPG grants are intended to incentivize novel approaches and spark innovation to find a cure for the deadliest pediatric brain cancer, DIPG. Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a rare and aggressive brainstem glioma which usually affects children. This pediatric brain tumor is located in the brain stem and is notoriously difficult to treat.
Fellowship Grant
Awarded to outstanding pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellows under the guidance of a mentor to help develop the next generation of leaders in DIPG research. $300,000 over 3 years (maximum of $100,000 per year) for post-doctoral fellows; $200,000 over 3 years (maximum of $67,000 per year) for pre-doctoral fellows.

New Investigator Grant
Supporting newly independent DIPG researchers working to establish DIPG research labs – OR – established researchers (who have not previously conducted DIPG/DMG research) to encourage them to start. The ChadTough Defeat DIPG New Investigator Grant is up to $400,000 over 3 years (maximum of $135,000 in any one year).

Game Changer Grant
Funding for hypothesis-driven research projects that represent an innovative approach to a major challenge in DIPG research, with the potential to lead to groundbreaking discoveries in the field. The ChadTough Defeat DIPG Game Changer Grant is up to $600,000 over 3 years (maximum of $200,000 per year).
