The Grant A. Harris Fellowship provides $60,000 worth of METER research instrumentation (six $10,000 awards) to graduate students studying any aspect of agricultural, environmental, or geotechnical science at accredited U.S. or Canadian universities.
Requirements:
- Applications must be received by January 21, 2026 no later than 12:00PM PST
- Applicants will receive notification of the committee’s decision by 5:00PM PST on March 9, 2026. The committee’s decision is final. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

- Completed application form
- PDF attachment of applicant’s 3-page research proposal, including title, abstract, primary goals and objectives, methods, time schedule, significance of your research, and plans for dissemination of findings. References should be included but do not count toward your three-page proposal
- Itemized budget of METER instrumentation in a quote form, not exceeding $10,000 USD
- Applicant’s curriculum vitae (PDF)
- Statement of support and/or letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor for the project
