The dissertation fellowships are for doctoral candidates who are specializing in the cognitive, clinical, and neural foundations of language. A doctoral candidate must be pursuing a dissertation topic that involves both language and brain variables. The objective of these fellowships is to allow the recipients to devote their full time to the completion of their doctoral dissertations.

The maximum amount of a Dissertation Fellowship in the Foundation of Language award is $40,000. The funds may be used for living expenses, health insurance, equipment, travel, or any other purpose related to the completion of the doctoral dissertation.
