ACIS offers four graduate student doctoral fellowships intended to support travel costs incurred in the course of conducting research:

  • The Larkin Research Fellowship in Irish Studies is given to annually to a Ph.D. student conducting work in history or the social sciences on an Irish topic.
  • The Larkin Interdisciplinary Fellowship In Irish Studies is awarded annually to an Masters or Ph.D. student doing interdisciplinary research on topics that intersect with Irish Studies, including but not limited to music; creative writing; folklore; Irish language; social sciences; Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies; disability studies; and other related fields.
  • The Krause Research Fellowship in Irish Studies is awarded annually to a Ph.D. student working on a topic in Irish literature.
  • The Hume Foundation Fellowship is awarded to a Ph.D. student working on Northern Ireland/Peace Studies. For all prizes, eligible topics include Ireland as well as the Irish global diaspora.

Eligibility

Applicants must be doctoral candidates at a North American institution.
