DAAD offers grants to graduate students at North American universities to attend 8-week intensive language courses at leading institutes in Germany. The award offers a one-off scholarship payment of EUR 2,300, payment of a country-specific travel allowance, and payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover.
Eligibility
- Scholarships are awarded to students currently enrolled full-time in a graduate program in all fields of study except German Studies, German Language and Literature or German Translation and Interpretation.
- Foreign nationals may be eligible if they have been full-time graduate students at a US or Canadian university for at least one academic year at the time of application. Applicants must have completed three semesters of college German or have achieved an equivalent level of language proficiency at the time of application.
