Founded in 1987, the Italian Art Society is dedicated to the study of Italian art and architecture from prehistory to the present day. With a membership of more than 350 established and emerging scholars, graduate students, and aficionados, the IAS is a vital force in generating new knowledge about the visual arts on the Italian peninsula and neighboring islands.
Travel Grants
The IAS provides conference travel grants to support graduate students, junior scholars, and international scholars presenting at any of the conferences where the IAS sponsors sessions.
Research & Publication Grants
The IAS offers two research grants, each for $1,000:
- The IAS Dissertation Research Grant; open to students who have advanced to candidacy for a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree; and
- The IAS Research & Publication Grant, open to scholars holding the PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
